HULK REALIZE CRAVING FOR SMASH CAUSED BY HEGEMONIC FORCES
I was alerted to a new “fighter” for freedom who goes by the name feministhulk. In an interview by Audrey Bilger, feministhulk is given a detailed description.
“He’s big. He’s green. His favorite activity is smashing patriarchy and all forms of oppression. He’s Feminist Hulk, and since he first burst onto the Twitter scene less than a month ago he’s gathered more than 10,000 followers, who gleefully re-Tweet his 140-character commentaries on gender, feminism and his own personal superhero, feminist theorist Judith Butler.”
This comic inspired twitter page really hits the nail on the head when it comes to discussing some of feminist literatures most popular theories, often with a nod to their creators. feministhulk carries so much resonance with me because he possess the fervor of a person who has recently begun to be influenced by the writings of such powerful authors as bell hooks, Audre Lord, and of course, Judith Butler. He also gives an explanation for his use of capitals,
“HULK USE ALL-CAPS. HULK CHOOSE NOT TO IMPOSE HIERARCHY ON LANGUAGE. PLUS, BIG HULK FINGERS MAKE SHIFT-KEY PROBLEMATIC.
HULK MAKE CAPITALIZATION EXCEPTION FOR bell hooks.”
